Keyholding & Alarm Response
In essence, Keyholding is the responsibility to hold keys for a predetermined property or portfolio of properties for the purpose of being able to respond and attend either to an emergency alarm response or even a pre-planned visit.
Unfortunately emergency call outs, due to their nature, can be at any time, without any prior warning, and generally occur at the worst possible time for the Keyholder which generally would be out of normal working hours and more normally in the middle of the night.
With the advent of the Corporate Manslaughter and Corporate Homicide Act 2007 in addition to the possible implications of the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974 in relation to the Duty of Care of Lone Working, it has become increasingly more favourable for landlords, owners, property managers and those responsible for the welfare and management of their staff to out-source this function.
Keyholding can take a number of forms and all keyholding services are provided as full 24 / 7 coverage, 365 days of the year.
Full Keyholding
Nikaro will hold the keys to your property and we will respond to all callouts whether they be an Alarm Response or a pre-planned attendance.
For Nikaro to be your first priority Keyholder callout, simply inform your Alarm Receiving Centre (ARC) of our contact details and leave the rest to us.
Accompanied Keyholding
Sometimes customer’s prefer to hold the keys themselves but have a security officer in attendance whilst responding to an emergency callout. This is the accompanied Keyholding service and serves to offer protection for your attending staff member.
The normal approach to this service is for the Keyholder (your staff) to contact our Service Provider upon receiving notification to attend the site and between the Keyholder and the SP representative they will decided a mutually acceptable rendezvous point to meet up and travel together to the site.
